Running in Copenhagen

Although I didn’t realize it at the time, we booked our AirBnb apartment right next to probably one of the best places to run in Copenhagen – the Lakes. It’s a set of five long rectangular lakes just north of central Copenhagen. There are dirt paths along the lakes and on the southern side, the path goes under the streets which cross the lake in several places, so you don’t have to wait for stoplights, etc.

If you run up and back from one end, you can get in about 6-7 km. The trails are flat, relatively wide and dirt. In the mornings in the summer, the northern side has a reasonable amount of shade, while the southern side seems to have almost no shade.
