Running in Paris

River Seine Pedestrian Path

I generally like trail running so Paris was a bit of a rude awakening. There are a lot of cars, of course, and every few blocks there is a big enough street that you need to wait for the traffic signal.

Since we were staying in either the 9th arr. or the 3rd arr., most of my running was either along the River Seine or through the Jardin de Tuileries.

River Seine pedestrian path: About every 1-2 blocks, there is a ramp and/or stairway down from the road that border the Seine.

Jardin de Tuileries

Jardin de Tuileries: Can be accessed at either end (Palais de Louvre and Place de la Concorde – marked below). This is a shorter run, but there are several paths that go the length of the garden.  So, you can go up and down the garden several times without feeling like it’s a track.
